Fr Anastasios was born in Findlay, Ohio. His family moved to Virginia, and then to North Carolina. He attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a BA in Political Science. He and wife Michaela wed in 2002, and later that year, seeking to learn more about the Orthodox Church, although still a Catholic, he and his wife moved to New York where he attended St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary.
In 2004, concerned with the modernism and ecumenism he was witnessing in the Orthodox world, Fr Anastasios began to consider the views of the traditional Orthodox Christians (also known as “Old Calendarists”), which led to his and his wife’s conversion in 2006.
Fr Anastasios was ordained to the diaconate on April 26, 2008, and to the priesthood on June 22, 2008. Fr Anastasios and Michaela make their home in North Raleigh, and it is at their residence where the Chapel resides.
